Hi 
Bamboo is an extraordinary plant, a giant specie of grass used in Asia for almost everything: to make household items, in construction, artworks, paper, medicine, music instruments, textiles You can even eat it.
There is a real bamboo civilization in the East. It is a noble plant, symbol of longevity, perseverance under hard conditions and in China it is referred to as one of the « four gentlemen », along with the plum blossom, the orchid and the chrysanthemum, subjects of choice for many paintings and calligraphies. Bamboo is also one of the « three friends of winter » as, like the pine tree and the plum blossom, it stays green during the winter months.
So here is a folder totally bamboo themed. The handle is made of bamboo root carved with bamboo leaves and stems and there is a small calligraphy seal at the end, in ebony, engraved with bamboo leaves.
The blade is by my friend Christophe Mercier; it is 75 mm long and out of stainless sanmai (115W8 720CRV13).
