Got a chance to use the bandicoot some Sunday. Used it to cut string and then sliced tomatoes for sandwiches. I was really impressed with how well it did. I rinsed it off and put it in the dishdrainer to dry, no rust while in the dish drainer. Back in the sheath you go:)

The Bandicoot is one of my absolute favorite small fixed blades. I've temporarily retired it to my toolbox, as I have acquired a Howling Rat, and want to give it a fighting chance... I've thinned the edge out on my Coot some (personal preference) and it cuts like you wouldn't believe.

There was a fairly contentious thread a while back, can't remember exactly what it was about. But anyway, I mentioned that my Coot will outcut my Moras. That's a fact. I'm *very* tempted to send it to Cliff. That high flat grind is one of my favorites, and it allows you to put any kind of edge that you want to on the knife. And the steel is many times better also.

Great knife!

Pulled the Coot out and no rust:) Used it and the Howling Fat to peel and cut potatoes last night for dinner. Wife was hungry (she's five months pregnant), so she pushed me aside to chop them up. She started with the coot and moved to the HF, as she was chopping instead of cutting. The Coot was a little better at peeling and slicing, but the HF was a little better at chopping. You should see the cutting board:D Washed them both off and put them in the dishdrainer, where they are waiting patiently for dinner. I'm thinking frozen pizza, stay tuned, the pampered chef baking stone may be in danger, stay tuned...

I've got to use the INFIcoot around the house alot the last couple of weeks (moving). Mostly cutting cardboard, paper, scraping adhesive off the shower (don't ask), and most recently since all our tableware was packed up, cutting up apples and pears for the kids. For utility purposes, it's the first knife I grab. Away from the house during the week, I usually have the Rat Trap on me, although right now I'm carrying my brand new Sebenza.:o It's sweeeet, but it also cost almost 3 times as the Rat Trap.

I can't wait for my bandcoot to get here!

It's a great feeling to know that there's a rat on its way. Good times, my friend.

RudeChuck,

I think your poor abandoned Rat Trap needs a trip to Washington where it will still be loved. ;)

Congrats on the new Sebbie, those are great knives!

Sodak,

Even Rats deserve a break sometimes....Nah!! :D

How secure is the knife in those buy brown kydex sheaths? I'm not sure about them while bushwacken through dense undergrowth.

I've only owned one of his sheaths, but I can say that Dave's work is top notch. You won't have any problems there.
