A new craftsman has opened a leatherworking shop near my home, and I am going to switch my standard sheaths to his brand from JRE. His name is Robert Fetner, and works under the business name Bandido Leather. Please welcome him to my forum. Dylan and I are going to benefit from having a local guy we can drop a knife off with, and have a custom sheath very quickly. Also, as stated above he is going to make a budget line of sheaths for me. I think his work really compliments my line well. I plan to sell his sheaths at $30 (a real value for a handmade sheath) when purchased with a knife. I will not be re-selling his work without a knife purchase. You may contact Robert if you would like to get one of his sheaths, but please be aware that my price is set as combined with a knife, and to buy a single sheath, it will likely be a bit more $. It is exactly the same right now with JRE. If you call JRE to get a Fiddleback sheath from them, you don't pay $25.

His contact 411 is as such:

This move is not an indication of anything between JRE and myself, but simply my attempt at convenience and supporting a local craftsman, and hopefully soon, a GA Guild member.

right on Andy... his work looks great.. can't say i've ever been a big fan of the JRE sheaths, they're well made and all, but just seem too mass produced to me..

Andy, having a leather bender close by will probably be really nice, congrats! Any chance we can get him to visit Bladeforums from time to time?

I'm hoping so. He is new to forums.

Will the pancake style sheath be the only option or does the new maker do any fold over bushcraft style sheaths?

He is designing me a Bushcraft style as we speak.

With a name like Bandido he has to drink Corona, shoot tequila, and eat jalepeno's

I like homegrown

Thanks for the positive feedback. As soon as I figure how to upload more pictures I'll add more. I'll be happy to help anyone looking for a custom sheath.

One type sheath I see far too few of is the crossdraw canted sheath. Will Bandido Leather make custom sheaths for individuals ?

Thanks, - K -

I'm sure he would love the business. His contact 411 is above.

"The Leatherman"? :D

Welcome Bandido Leather! I'm glad we got you sorted out in the list of BF sheathmakers in the other forum. :)

Are you a Bandido? I work with a few down here so I am curious.
