I just ordered some mk morse bandsaw blades for my portaband... I called a tech at mk morse and they said they run 67-69 hrc on the teeth which is cool. I'm just curious on which would be optimum for blades and what the difference is, I didn't find much googling it, especially related to thin blade stock in alloy steels like what we use in knife making. maybe it doesn't make a difference but thought I'd ask!

FWIW I have used both MK Morse and Lenox and the Lenox 18 tpi seems be about the best for all around cutting. There was another thread here a while back that mentioned the quality of the Lenox blades may be slipping, I haven't noticed that yet.

Yep I was one of those. I recently had a box of three Lennox blades 18tpi for steel cutting. Two were terrible and started jumping off the wheels shortly after starting use. Third one cut and cut and cut like Lennox are suppose to. I just received a box of Morse but haven't used them yet.

I've tried several brands and honestly, for the money at 18 TPI, I am very happy with DeWalt blades of all people. I bought them as they are pretty reasonable in a multipack. I took a magnacut stick (0.27") through 2 inch sections for about 12 cuts the other day and she's still toothy and smiling. For about $7 a blade, I'm sold.
