I hope this is ok to post here. I have no affiliation with the company, I'm just a new customer.

I probably go through more wood bandsaw blades than most knife makers because I saw up so much wood for my website, but anywhere you can safe money is a bonus. I was always buying Olson or whatever cheap brand I could get at the local Wood Craft or Amazon. I was turned onto woodcraftbands.com by a friend who goes through a lot more blades than I do. I purchased 5 105" blades for my Jet 14" saw, and just put the first one on the other day. I had been paying about $20 each for blades, and these were about $12 each. My first blade has gone through two good size hickory burls, two maple burls and an oak burl. It's just now starting to slow down in cutting.

It sounds like Woodcraftbands is a mom and pop place. I'm told they are good with phone orders and not very tech savvy, so you may be best off to call instead of email. It looks like they will custom make any size you need.

A lot of those type places have a band welder and buy Lenox band stock in bulk rolls. They weld up your order and ship it out. Next time you order, ask who's band saw stock they are using.

^^^^

Lennox, Starett & Norse are the three I find to be the top Tier of bandsaw blades no matter whom welds them up.

^ Starrett used to be good, but they're junk. I used to use them all the time but the amount of blades that broke way before their time was just disgusting. And their measurement tools used to be very good and now they're just over priced import crap. It's just awful what happened with that company.

I've started buying blades here: https://www.sawblade.com

They're good quality and affordable American made. I use the M42 bimetal blades. They're much better blades than Starrett and better priced too.

I go though about a blade a month. That's sad to hear about Starrett, I bought 30-40? Bi metal a couple of years back from someone that cut & welded them up off a spool and they were as good as the ones I've been getting from them for the past 20 years.

The older gent closed his shop here in town because they pushed him out to build another Hipster Juice & coffee hangout.
My town has changed for the worse! I will get lennox or Norse when I reorder.
