It's been awhile since posting here but it's been a very busy summer. This is the fifth version of a series of hunters I've been making from local salvaged high nickel bandsaw blades and.. in this case.. Aldo 1084. But this time with wrought iron laminated to the sides. Ebony grip showing sawmill 'character', nickel guard. The design was originally inspired by the work of Samuel Lurquin.

9" OAL, 4.5" blade

Also.. I'm working on an exciting collaboration Viking warknife (or langsax) with Zeb Deming.. a very talented smelter of iron and steel. You can see the build here:

Also.. I'm working on my own meteorite steel in which I smelted iron directly from ore and have started processing pieces of the bloom through a refining hearth to re-melt and combine with bits of Campo de Cielo meteorite. Not exactly sure what will come of it yet.. but here is the beginning:

Pics are working. Looks nice Scott. I like the handle texturing.

Scott,

I'm a big fan of your work. Nice profile on the blade, and the textured handle is an interesting treatment. A bit like saw cut bone on a Barlow slip joint. The guard's not adding anything to it for me though.

Looks like you have some challenging and rewarding projects in the works too. Keep us abreast :)

Thanks folks..

Just so people know.. that texture on the ebony is the natural saw marks from whatever mill it came from. I like to imagine some gnarly third world contraption in Africa. I got a bunch of rough cut ebony a while back...

Scott, great looking knife! Love the Damascus and the Ebony!

Very nice work as usual.

Ok, now there working fine. Must have been on my end. I love the rough sawn texture with the damascus! Great knife in Roush style!

Great looking knife, lots of character in a small and classy package! Really love how your knives all vary so much, no two are really exactly alike!

Thank you..... Yeah I always try to come up with ideas for a standard 'knife' of some sort.. but I just get distracted too easy.

This is really amusing! I like the execution of the blade and design. You nailed it. Do you have band saw?

Good looking knife, like the color and the textures on the handle and the blade is of great quality. Great job!
