I was gifted a new Bauer bandsaw ( Harbor Freight) a couple of years ago. I like the way it cuts but some time ago I ran it for probably more than 20 minutes nonstop. Shortly after that the brushes fried. I installed the replacement brushes and they lasted all of 2 minutes. Anyhoo, I am looking for a replacement. My local Lowe's has a Dewalt model DWM120 for a good price but it comes with only a 90 day warranty. Anyone have any experience with these saws?

I wish I could answer for the DWM120, but I have the Milwaukee that everyone here has (I run it off a foot pedal and it’s mounted on a swag table) and I love the thing. It’s always down to chew through anything I want it to, great tool.

I have had the Dewalt for a long time and it has never given me any issues. I wish it had a bit more depth of cut, don't know if the Milwaukee is any different.

I run the Dewalt. Here's the wife cutting out some blades for me:

We work at a pretty high volume and use it for long periods of time, often. I often say that it is the one tool I would replace immediately, that day, if I have to. And have, even though it was a 2 hour round trip to the nearest Lowes. Been using these saws for years.

I use it for everything from steel to bolster materials, pins, lanyard tubing and handle materials, everything. I gave away my 14 inch wood bandsaw that I used on handle materials. I just wasn't using it anymore.

Everything that needed cutting in that batch was cut on the Dewalt.

With that recommendation I have bought one of these saws from Lowes. $240 from our local store. Thanks for the feedback, Steve B

Good deal. Good price too, I reemeber mine being a hair over $300. The Lennow blades that Lowe's sell work very well. I use 14 tpi for steel and metal and 10 tpi for handle materials>
