Anyone tried cutting CPM S30V (annealed, 3/16" thickness) with a bandsaw?

If you've been successful, what brand and model number (or size, speed, amps, etc.) was your bandsaw and what kind of blades did you use (TPI, bimetal, etc.)?

Thanks!

P.S> How does it compare to (the same thickness) annealed O1?

You are going to need to get a Lenox bi-metal blade for your saw.they run around $25-30.Run it at the slowest setting if you have a choice.A wood cutting band saw runs too fast (and is not built for the thrust),so it has to be a metal cutting saw.

I wouldn't go so far to say has to be..:) if you are inventive..
This depends on the unit you have
if you have one that the blade is backed up with a bearing it will work if you can get the blade speed down FPM..

this summer I set one of mine up this way
I put a 3 phase motor in it with my VFD to slow it down,
you can also slow it down by adding step down pulleys
or a gear box..
