***pics in the link below*** I am about to try out this setup I have with the HF band saw and the Swag v1.0 vise mount table. I have the Lenox 14 tpi blades. Anyone else have something similar? This is my second attempt to make a knife. First one I crashed at the very end making the bevel after heat treat, I used my 1x30 to put in the final bevel and hit the whole thing up the side and ruined my 1500 hand sanding job :/ any suggestions with the final sharpening of the knife after HT? I probably should just go super slow I imagine. I made the first one cutting out he profile with 1/16 cutoff wheel and 1/4” wheel for the profiling.

I hope I get some responses, I have other things to talk about, like my liners I glued to my scales and my drill press bit started to stall and get stuck in my 1080.. when I was drilling the lanyard hole, it did fine with the 1/8” holes I did. Maybe not enough RPMS?
I never had shop in school so it’s really the first time I’m using these tools too, and taking extreme caution. I really think I’ve found my passion here. Anyways, thanks guys.

This is commonly discussed in the makers section. Ya could have a moderator move it there. To answer your question, yes I use a similar setup. I use a Dewalt deep cut portaband with a Swag table bolted to a work bench. I have cut out many, many blades this way.
