I have a question? My anvil is less than perfect. It is very old and well made tough. Does anyone out there know of a source for repair/rebuild for them?

If it is a real swayback you may be able to have it resurfaced at a machine shop on their Blanchard grinder.

No it actually has edge chips and appears to be very flat. Good call though. Thanks.

The chips can be filled by welding in "hardfacing rod" and then regrinding flat, like IG said.

If you hardface try first to find what the anvil is made of . Then pick a hardface rod that is designed for impact [ they range from impact to pure wear]
