What's the biggest value with quality blade you own and the one folder that got away that was a sweet value

opinel no.9 cost me $6 about 15 years ago and it still takes a crazy edge and has constantly stayed in my EDC line up. I also have a Kershaw Crown that I got at Wally World about a year and a half ago for $10 that I have been very impressed with, awesome fit and finish and makes me more than willing to try any of the other Kershaw Chinese line. Im sure I could come up with more but those were the first two that came to mind. The one that got away most recently was a sweet old Kelly axe that I saw at an antique shop near my house that was only $8 hung on what seemed to be the original haft which was still in great shape but when I went back a few days later to get it it had gone:grumpy:

Mora classic #1 and Kershaw Skyline. Good steel well made both will take a fine edge and keep it. I wish I had picked up a few more Skylines when they where $26 other than that no real ones that got away just a lot of knives I would like to own but never will.

Biggest value/quality I own- Spyderco Delica w/ Emerson wave... that thing has come in handy as a bottle opener as many times as it has as a knife.
Sweet value that got away- This is twofold for me: 1) I had an Elishawitz Cortex that I got for a NASTY deal in a trade. I almost felt bad making the trade, and I traded it away for some lesser value knives and cash but I wish I would have kept it around. The knife I traded to get it was worth about 1/3 of the Cortex so that made it a high value knife. 2) I'm still kicking myself for not getting one of those Spyderco Paramilitaries in D2/OD green when they were clearing them out for like $100 a couple years ago.

Cryo. Got mine with a GC (work gave us Christmas presents last year), so free to me. Feels sturdy, good ergos, pocket clip holds tight, and Kershaw got the heat treat right.

Kershaw seems to own the Bang-for-Buck market if you're talking under $25 (Half-Ton, G10 Hawk, Chill, etc.). CRKT makes some good knives in that price-range (the McGinnis Tuition is one of my favorite knives ever and it was around $15).

At $25-$50, I'd say Spyderco or Byrd are on top of the most-value there. Kershaw makes some good knives in that price-range, but at that point, the Spyderco Delica is top-notch and their Value-line models and pretty much any of the lock-back Byrd knives are a very good deal.

Benchmade's Harley Davidson, Lone Wolf, and HK line don't seem to do much for me personally - but a lot of folks seem to love them.

At ~$100 (for me) it's hands down - the Spyderco Paramilitary-2.

BUCK

All still made in America (except some Bucks & some Ontatio folders) GREAT Bang-for-the-Buck blades.

ive been edc n a Kershaw RJ1 plain edge just to put it through the paces and it holds up to anyrhing I throw at it I think I paid 22.00 , I guess that's why my other blades are unused and mint , I ve been trying to hate it being made in china but im hard pressed .

I have had great luck with any of the Kershaw low cost knives. I really like the Cold Steel roach belly fixed blade, and the Cold Steel Bushman, they have been a good bang for the buck.

I got a Buck Vantage Select with the weird Paperstone handles for $15 in the sale bin at a local big box store. I'm really impressed with it, and have been carrying it a lot.

I once had a Benchmade m42 that I traded off in a bout of stupidity. I miss that knife a lot.

Just sold my other great value knife the kershaw lahar couldn't pass it up 93.00 so I bought a spyderco military with it for 90.00 hope I made the right move lol

I'd have to say my Southard. I feel like a winner getting one for the market price of $230. I just bought a Techno Lnib for $120 just yesterday... Plenty more, I'm a deal catcher ya see!

I got A LOT of mileage with my Spyderco Tenacious and byrd meadowlark so value to performance...I def got my money's worth.

Every Victorinox SAK I have purchased has been a great value. After that would be Buck knives.

SAKs are probably the highest value knives I've had. They're inexpensive and offer a lot of utility in addition to the main blade.
