Was it bad buisness or just not enough interest in the knives? I hear that they are awesome knives i know that Ethan bought the rights back from Camillus.. But i was wondering if Quality is any different know that Ka-bar took over?, ive had a few Ka-bar and so have my friends and i wasnt really impressed, but i love the look of the Beckers...

Camillus the company who used to manufacter becker knives went bankrupt not becker...

Ok so the designer didnt personally go bankrupt, but his manufacter did, Camillus did alot more than just make Beckers i see, so im guessing Becker didnt really factor into the bankruptcy??

Ethan purchased back the rights to the BK&T name after it all went down. Kabar then picked up the manufacturing for the brand, with Paul Tsujimoto doing the engineering on them. (Paul has been at the top three big knife manufacturers since birth. Pretty sure he was born in a knife factory.) In any event, the knives are much better than they were previously, with numerous people finding this to be their best iterations yet. The steel has proven to be very good, as well as the heat treatment performed by Kabar. Add to that the fact that Ethan and Toooj are still improving each of the knives in response to us, the consumers, as well as making changes due to improved technology, and you have a product that is pretty close to it's apex and only looks to get better from here on out.

As far as what they can do, well, a picture is worth a thousand words, so here are some pics.

If there is no "Jason" - and I still can't figure out how to respond to a quote on my damn phone.............. then what were all those bad movies with thinly dresses campers about? I thought that was part of the marketing scheme. :0

I'll say this, since being on here about 2 years and learning what BKT knives are and can do I have bought just as many of them as I have some other brands. In fact I am keeping more of them than the others as I whittle the list down to just one knife. They are the first knife I was able to MOD which makes me want even more of them. I never "waited" for a knife like I did the tweeners and I hate waiting.

Becker is alive and well

KaBar is alive and well

Becker knife quality is enjoying a success not seen for 20 years, imho.

bankrupt? why does that even matter? :D

Being relatively new to Beckers, I can't speak to the history. What I can talk about is how amazed I am at the quality of the knives, the fact that they're made in the U.S., that they're affordable for us mere mortals and that the guy that designed the line is directly involved with his customers worldwide. Oh, and the guy from kabar that is responsible for the line is ALSO in contact with the customers! How many mass-produced products can we say that about? It all combines to inspire brand loyalty.
