I kind of understand what you guys are saying, but spam links, requests for knife values from non-paying members, open threats between members, and offensive images get removed specifically because they are rules violations.
I guess I seem overly sensitive, but the user name is openly hostile, imo. I've always tried to brush off such things and never felt like I've been in immediate danger when insulting statements are made in person, (thankfully never been openly threatened) but it still bothers me and puts me on edge. Of course a screen name isn't a viable threat on my life, but it leaves me uncomfortable. Yeah, the threads will drop off the board into oblivion and I won't have to see it again.
I guess I'm still bothered by the table at the gun show last week where they were selling Song of the South on bootleg dvd and a book titled something like "The South's View on Slavery" They also had a bunch of wood handled fixed blades, none of which I bothered to look at. Reminded me of another gun show when I was a teen and saw a bumper sticker for sale that said "Work, it's the white thing to do." The vendor at that tabe seemed a little uneasy when he saw me, but he wasn't openly rude or hostile at least. But that stuff is just going to come up while living in the south.
I don't want to stick my head in the sand or anything, but I also don't want to give this loser the small satisfaction of letting his user name stand even though he can't post anything else.
Anyway, it was just a request. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen.
