Banner Ads- Paid Subs etc

Spark is asking for feedback on his 'Announcement' above re Banner Ads and more on this site. I dont see where anyone is providing FB or even an area to do that thus the reason for this thread.


He is proposing the Ads would be invisible to those with a paid Subscription. Believing that the Banner Ads would all be related to knives- frankly i wouldnt mind seeeing one even though i have a paid subscription. When i say one i mean in one spot where different Banner Ads would run. This is the norm on my other Vbulletin sites where i am a member and no big deal at all.

If im wrong and there are gonna be Banner Ads for Viagra and Buicks etc then yes please spare me.

There were a couple of other issues he is asking about so read the Announcement and put your comments here. I hope Im not missing another spot where this is going on. If so, please delete this.
 
If it's stuff related to the topics here then I would be cool with that.

However, don't need more BS/"information" in my life! I come to places like this to get away from those things.

Unless it's going to be for sweet deals I would rather not see them. Let the non-paying members watch the commercials. Or, maybe let the paying ones opt out of them if they like.
 
I wouldn't mind if they were related to hunting, fishing, resorts, vacations.....and, of course.....knives.
 
Put my 2 cents in-thanks for posting BSH, I just about missed this and certainly missed tha announcement. Recommend all do, cause it'll be what it'll be based on feedback.
 
I wouldn't mind seeing adds for knives, gear, etc.

could generate some more revenue for the site.
 
Some banner ads are in a subscription form where all sorts of products are presented including political campaign ads.

If ads were to be presented here, I'd like an opt-out option or an opt-in option for paid members. I wouldn't mind seeing ads that were related to this forum, but I can find all the other stuff elsewhere and to me it would be redundant and distracting. I can see why forums run subscription ads to help cover the costs of the forum.

THere is a whole thread devoted to Feedback for this in SERVICE AND SUPPORT. It contains all the pertinent info regarding this subject. I'd suggest, if you want your opinions heard, that you post in the thread HERE : I'd like your feedback on a couple topics: Search, Subforums, Banner Ads

For my 2 cents do what you thing would be best for the forum. You have done a fantastic job so far.
