Had a phone conversation with Gelbu this weekend and he said Bura and Prakash has finished up 10 Banspatis before Dasein break and he had crated them in a wood crate and had shipped them UPS express. I look for them the end of this week or first of next week. So, the first ten HIKV sufferers on the list should have the Royal Banspati in their hands very soon.

Also included in this shipment were a dozen Chesapeake Bay Knife Club khukuris done by shop 2. Illness at shop 1 has almost stopped HI production there and shop 2 is making up the slack with very good success. Also, shop 2 tried their hand at 4 Ang Khola Bowies which should also be in this shipment. The first 3 done by shop 1 was definitely NOT what we wanted.

Chesapeake Bay KC khukuris & the first of the AK bowies -- this should definitely be an interesting shipment.

Ang Khola Bowie? Truly we live in wonderous times! I thought they were all lost when Santa Ana defeated the Gorkhas at the Alamo...

The banspati didn't really appeal to me, even though it is beautiful. I guess it just wouldn't feel right to use it, and if I'm not going to use it, why get one? To all who bought one, congratulations and I hope they are as nice for you to own as they are for me to see occasionally.

My Viking friends want to know if the kamis could make a scramasax. Sounds easy enough; mostly just a khukuri that doesn't have a bend or curve. They probably could but why? There is plenty of demand for actual khukuris, no need for the kamis to learn the ancient knife styles of another continent.

"Oh, a magic khukuri. Why didn't you say so?"

I am most anxious to see this one,oh okay.I am most anxious to see any I have coming or any Uncle posts.
This will be the one that is taken out and ooohed and awwwd over, wiped off and put away.Someday someone will need it worse than I do and then they can buy it.Of course by then it will be an old and valued antique.

I'll be very interested in seeing what the shop 2 kamis did with the Ang Khola Bowie.

They can't read or write and are trying to work from a dimensional sketch. It will be interesting if nothing more.

It should go much quicker now that I am a free man so to speak.

You know,I drew the Ang Khola Bowie on a board and it really isn't that big of a knife, although the USMC Bolo has a slightly longer blade it has a shorter handle.Over all length will be about the same.

I will be interested to see them too.
