Just got my plain edge Military, latest model. Damn, that blade is Spydie-sharp! When opening my knife-box (where most of my other Spydies rest comfortably) I had the Military with blade open, and before I knew it I made a nick on my middle left finger. I felt a little tinge and yep, there it was, a bit of blood coming out. I just had to smile, since this is my second Spydie-cut incident (first was with a Calypso Jr. with VG-10 blade...ouch!).
Still, that Military looks to be one hell of a knife. Can't wait to test it! It sure looks like it will make a great utility/survival knife. I've yet to get used to its angled profile (where blade and handle are not lined up in a continuous straight line), instead of the straight profile I'm used to with other tactical-looking knives such as the Starmate and the CRKT KFF. It looks cool as hell, though, and I'm sure I will get to appreciate this kind of profile soon enough.
Hey, here's a question. What do you guys prefer? The angled or the straight profile? Is it for an aesthetic reason, or for a utility purpose? Why?
Thanks,
-Flood
