Howdy.
This is something like a opinion poll:D
I am wavering in between to buy a roll of #5 or #6 cord Barbour linen thread.
I know that for sheaths #5 cord it's strong enough(35lb tensile strength) it's not that the problem, I am talking about the "look".
Do you think for general use #6 cord is "too big/thick" (as look)?
Do you guys notice LOTS of difference between barbour #5 or #6 cord ?
I mean, can you say with just a glance that a sheath has been sewn with a 5# cord insted of #6 cord ? or the is it the difference barely noticeable?.

Every answer will be VERY appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

PS.
Maybe I will use just few yards of that thread, and since it's exepensive(and I CAN'T find just 10/20 yards:o) at least I want to be sure to buy the right size for me.

to me thinner cord is always better looking.. plus if you botch something up and have to do another loop over existing thread, it's more likely to blend better with thinner..

I'd suggest 5 cord at 6 SPI as well as did Mr Al Stohlman.....

I can generally tell the difference but then I've been doing it for 50 years and have pulled lots of old thread when doing repairs so I reckon I got to know threads pretty good....;)
