Well, being one to not leave good enough alone, upon receiving my HOG ASH today, I had to strip it! Well, no one else was going to want a knife with "Porkducci" on it, so I might as well make it to my liking. So, here are a couple of the before and after pictures. I will add a satin finish and reattach the handles. I'm not sure why the handles look so green, because they really aren't in person.

Before:

Now that is what I call a crinkle coat!!!!!

All ready for a new finish.......

The blade looks almost DC with the coating off. Looks like you've got a head start on the polishing!

That does it, I'm going to slap your ass silly next time I see you. First the "Stubby" grindomatic crap and NOW THIS!

ARE YOU NUTS PORKDUCCI ?

So lets see some pictures of your "Juicyducci" HOG knife!!!! You don't know good look'n when you see it!! Heck, you thought Cobalt was good look'n until you spotted Teabag!

Wow, that must have taken some balls....

Can I ask how you re-apply the alu tubes that hold the scales in place?

I believe its quite tricky.

Looks good Ducci, now go cut some bricks with it. ;)

Buffalo, you need to cut and add new handle rivets after you drill the old ones out. Not hard at all. There are a couple threads on the process around here.

Geeesh you guys, calm down! I'm just removing the muddy finish, cleaning up the spine all around (there are a few black marks from heat treating), adding satin finish, then putting the handles back on with either titanium or stainless tube fasteners. Its not like I ruined the value of the knife, it only cost $167!!!! Not like someone wants a knife with "Porkducci" on the blade, well, I guess you could have Ban sand it off and it would be worth something then.

I like it.

How much work do you think it would be to remove the "Porkducci"?
I've got to do something to mine as "Rvoknio" is bugging me to no end. :(

OK--this absolutely HAS to be said...nuthin' like a stripped ASH first thing in the morning!! :D Actually looks pretty cool, though I like the muddy coating. Nice job, Porkducci!

I'll give you $177 for it. After you're done. :D

I paid more for my BRKT! Don't see your model in the Company store for $167 with a name on it Ran?
