During the run up to Blade Show, I decided to complete some knives as barebones as possible and still have Fiddleback quality. So, I made up two Hunters with a plain micarta handle, no liners, and a plain SS pin, no corbys, and large SS lanyard tube, no bullseyes. This arrangement saved me a few steps, and cut a bit of material costs out of the knife. Pretty soon you'll start seeing these around. The Barebones Hunter is going to go for $150 shipped a JRE sheath will cost whatever they cost me. (Acutally, I round to the nearest $5. I'm not trying to profit off the JRE sheaths.)

One of the knives sold, and I have one left. (These two are in thicker 3/16" steel, so I charged $155.) Its going to go off to JRE this week for a pattern!

Please chime in and tell me what you think!!

I think this is a good idea for a user. Some don't like to damage there nicer knives and this will people an option for a use & abuse knife.

Looks great to me, but personally I don't care for the large lanyard holes because I can't get my brain to decide if it would be comfortable. If I hadn't already said I want 2 of your other ones, I'd be interested in one.

The lanyard tube can be changed to a 1/4" tube. I have a bunch of that. The point is that its not going to be filled with other layers. I couldn't believe how fast those knives came out of the shop.

I played with it at the show. Still a gret knife and a great idea for our failing economy.

Although I think that your typical double layer handle scales are unique.
That blade is absolutley beautiful in its own right.
Nice job Andy
Ryan.....

Nice. I was just thinking I could use one of those! How much for the pair?

$155 shipped for the Hunter. The Bow Legged Joe sold today. I'm going to make a bunch soon though. Bare bones style will be $90.

Hunter sold. I'm glad this is my forum! LOL.

Those look great, Andy. Sort of a Fiddleback Villager finish;)

I think you'll find a real market in addition to your premium finished ones. There is no way I would ever trade my Woodsman for anything else, and I've actually got to use it hard once or twice;)

I'm very interested in one of those Bowlegged Joes in such a finish...I doubt I'll be able to afford one as I keep blowing my money on ammo, but I'm interested:p:D;)

Will the Barelegged Joe have the large lanyard tube? I think it would be cool if they were a matching pair. Can't wait to test out that hunter.
