I found this pic searching for something else and I can not say I have seen any like it before. Anyone else have a bare end, opposite ended multi-blade knife?

I have a small pen knife marked "Saxonia" and "Germany". It's similar to the one in this pic, but mine is tiny, like 1.5" closed.

I don't recall ever seeing something like the one in your pic, but I can't remember what I had for breakfast yesterday either.

Nice knife Neil but I am looking for ones with a bolster on one end and "bare" on the other. I know bare ends are common but I had never seen one with a blade on both ends before. Now I have not been into traditionals for more then a year so I am just curious if this was offered regularly over the years?

I think there's a two bladed Gerber Silver knight buried somewhere in the Traditional Totin' thread. I'm tryna find it.

Hmm, I have this one (thanks again, TLARbb!), but wouldn't have thought of it if you hadn't said something-- nor do I consider it as meeting the OP's criteria as it's such a different sort of pattern...? It looks more bare-ended than bareheaded to me. ;)

Ya those are old boy scout knives, they use to sell them in the scout shops for years
something like hammer brand knives, not 110% on that???

what does your knife say? my computer pixelates really bad when i tried to focus on the stamp

That knight looks like a modified barlow double end jack or is that pen?

?????

It all gets a bit confusing I must confess. I am interested to hear what this knife should be called? Though I think all of us tend to call them as we see them ;)

Its not my knife. Just a picture of a knife I came across and it piqued my interest.

That is an unusual configuration, Jeff.
It is marked Hammer Brand, the NYK use of that trademark, not the later Imperial, MNofUSN.
Rare - somewhat non-intuitive. If you bolster one pivot, you usually bolster the other also, on a two pivot knife. Rare because it didn't sell?? Hmmmmm. . . . . . . .

Referring the the bolster length to scale length ratio, I'm guessing?

Er, sorry guys-- I was being facetious, and my little winky face clearly didn't make as much of an impact on the interpretation of my "pattern description" as intended!

(Though my description does fit into Jeff's parameter above, calling it like I see it! :o)

To me, the Silver Knight is different because the handle is so entirely non-symmetric and angular that its end seems exactly that: an end, and not something congruous with any other example I've seen described/defined as "barehead[ed]."

Maybe I should have purchased it lol but I certainly agree it is unusual, but I kind of like it.

Sarah my entire last post was tongue & cheek. Interesting points on your knight and agree with what your "seeing" :p

P.S.

Happy Mothers day Sarah :)

Wow, I'm on a roll. Not my finest hour! :p

Thanks!

I'm now off to replace my failed roll with some quality rock (time in the woods, ho!). :D

Most of the two blade Silver Knights had a sheepsfoot as the secondary blade.

I've not seen very many of the SKs with the pen secondary. The pen was also used on the 250C three-blade model as the tertiary blade in a stockman like configuration:

It is bare ended as well.

This little Robeson is a bit quirky with a standard bolster at top and a non-supportive tip bolster at the bottom.

The master pen is etched with a representation of the "PocketEze" shield within another oval.

Don't know if this was a production piece or some kind of demonstration knife. It does have a pattern number of 722448.
