Morning folks, I decided to try my hand at re scaling a 110. A while back the big chain had some 110 in a tin for 17.00 I bought some for this experiment. I was going to post some glamour shots with some of my matching oak landing nets and bamboo rods but I lost the knife already so you only get the workman version pics.

I learned a lot doing this like make sure you know where the scales are. I lost one during construction but had extra trimmings to make another. Next comes file work as I progress.

Let me know what you think... pete

Very nice, that would be fun to carry. Nice work

Thanks for the replies folks. I'm a wood hunter. I'm always on the lookout for wood I can use. That piece was rescued from the BBQ pile. Its post oak and perhaps the lowest grade of my "nice wood" pile, but nice. Since it was my first conversion I decided to not use the really nice stuff.

I don't have a mill. This was done with a drill, belt sander and mill bastard file. The scales are epoxied on with slow set epoxy. I thought about putting a buffalo spacer in it but that wouldn't have matched my net so I decided to do that on a future conversion.

Up next is a ERC scaled 110 (or 112). This ERC is truly stunning and will make a fabulous knife. Be watching...

Lots of hard work and determination. :) No...really... that was it. It takes a lot of determination and self confidence to start grinding on a brand new knife hoping to make it good, better or just different. I have a reason for trying this and I'll show it when I get it all done. This knife was just a test.

Are far as more pics I was being literal when I said I lost it. I haven't seen the knife since Friday. I'm hoping it will show up in my clutter but it's possible I left in on my desk at work Friday afternoon and it's gone forever. If it shows up, I'll get some more pics.

Pete, always hoping for the best...
