Some time back if you recall I asked Bura to make a couple of forward curving khukuris and he did. I am almost sure that Sher thought he should offer his rendition, too, and I think this is it.
The blade is not marked but this khukuri rings of Sher's hammer. It is 18 inches, 9/16 thick, and weighs 2.5 pounds. It is not a khukuri for the faint of heart. I've looked this over and the only thing wrong with this knife is a small crack in the handle -- about 3 cents worth of epoxy for this one. Everything about his rig is very, very good. Even the scabbard and frog are nicely done. I guess maybe the sarkis were only half drunk.

This rig should sell for $175 to $195. Take $25 off because Sher did not mark the blade. Take $50 off for the crack in the handle. Nowhere will you find as much knife for $100 --nowhere!

Call or email and get a great Sher built khukuri that will last two lifetimes for $100 delivered right to your door.

Khukuri FAQ

Best looking FC I've seen so far, IMO.

Just when you think Sher has no more surprises left...

I'm already his #1 fan, but he continues to reinforce his status with me. And the scary part is, he's not even a master bishwakarma yet!

Uncle, that's why I think it's so great that you allow the kamis a good bit of freedom of choice on what they make; otherwise you'd never get wonderful surprises like this one and you might never realize each kami's areas of expertise.

Hi All,
NOW that's more like it! Larger radius/shorter arc!

Bill, did you get the pictures yet? I sure hope so, cuz it cost me some $s to get 'em made.
Dan

Dan, I got the pix and thanks. I've seen that khukuri pix before -- several times. Somewhere in my 10,000 file I have a picture of that khukuri with it's scabbard taken against red silk. It is on display at the Royal Armoury in the UK. I sent a copy of the pix to Gelbu and told him to ask Bura to make one "exactly" like the pix! We'll see.

I have to agree with everything Dan saids. This is also, most functional forward curve khukuri I have seen.

How do the foraed curves chop, ompared to normal kukris? What technique would be best?Thought id ask so i knew what to do with it when it got here.

Robert, the forward-curving khukuris seem to require a rather different technique, with the grip held as far to the rear as possible and the chopping done toward the tip of the blade. Takes a little getting used to, but works well when you do.

I found the review.Sounds good to me!WHen i first got my cs kukri, the problem for me was hitting the sweet spot.Id always hit too far up.So this might work out great for me.
