Bark ivory value appreciation

I'm wondering if knife with bark mammoth ivory generally always appreciates in value? Is there ever a case when the use of bark ivory has devalued a knife?

Thanks,

I would imagine that the only time that would happen is if the original material that was planned for the handle was worth more than the ivory. There are not a lot of materials where that would be the case.

Some people may not like bark mammoth ivory. For them it might lower the value compared to another material.

To tell you the truth though, I can't think of one single time that the use of bark mammoth ivory lowered the value of a knife.

When it cracks.

Seriously....it's a problem.

Otherwise, If you have one with good colors, the fading is only marginal over time (a looooong time).
