Hello everyone. I have all but made up my mind on buying a Bravo 3 from Bark River. I have not been able to find much online about this model, outside of the one big thread on here from 2014. If anybody would like to share pictures or opinions of this knife, it would sure be appreciated. I am leaning towards the black canvas micarta handles with red liners, but I would be interested to see owner's pictures of other handle options, instead of stock photos. Any input is appreciated.

You'll have better luck on the bark river Facebook group. Bcm with red liners is a classic handle set up, if you like it you'll never regret it

I will check there, thank you. It does strike me as odd for this particular knife to have so much internet hype before it came out, and next to no user reviews since its debut.

I actually tried making the exact same thread on here when I got my 1.25 lol. I'll pm you tomorrow about some stuff buddy, welcome to the fam.

Google "Bark River" "bravo 3" review and see what you get.

Everyone here seems to be a fan or a hater.

Mighty few reviews of actual users.

It must be that long and thick for chopping. Is it balanced and handled for chopping in terms of handle shape and grippability (Is that a word?)? Chopping what? BRKT has made knives that looked more like choppers. I own a couple. A machete at a fraction of the cost would cut grass better.

So far, among the few reviews (?) I like:

"Of what value is a high vanadium / wear steel in a chopping knife?" Good question. Any 3V axes around? Lots of 1040, 5160, and shock steel -- the stuff used for actual impact tools.

"f you like it you'll never regret it." I wonder what it means if you don't like it. You'll always regret it? I hope not.

Your money. Best of luck. And if you buy it and if you use it, please, please report.

Its a beast of a knife, best suited for chopping though.
It outworks an axe of the same weight, but not very usefull otherwise since it has a 7mm stock thickness. The choil makes it possible to do some other work with it, but limited.

I like mine - though I admit that haven't used it in about 2 yrs. Bark River's polished handles look good; but the grip isn't the best...and that becomes a factor when fatigued.
The Bravo 3 is a decent chopper; but I think the Senegal was better. (I might have to pull the Bravo 3 out for a little comparison, now)

Thanks for the info, fellas. I do fully intend to buy one, and will gladly do a write up upon receiving. I believe I have seen everything there is online about this model, and I am fairly confident in the quality. This will be my first Bark River, seems like a good introduction to the brand.

Well, I ended up placing an order tonight. Went with the black linen micarta and red liners. Will do a write up when it arrives. Thanks everyone.
