Would it be safe to sum up the following:

1. Bark River 3V Bushcrafter: Excels at bushcraft and cuts/slices well.

2. Bark River 3V Aurora: Excels at cutting/slicing and bushcrafts well.

Do you know any similar blade shaped, sized alternatives available in 3V steel from other manufactures or custom makers?

Thanks and Cheers!

If it's a different manufacturer you want but a knife with the same steel that will do similar tasks try one of Kosters knives. The bushcraft 3V has a scandi edge, basically G10 only in some different colors. It's a bit thinner stock at .140 as opposed to the Aurora's .170. Koster is 4 inches, Aurora is 4.5. Koster also makes the larger Bushmaster at 5 inches, and a much thicker blade ( .22 inches) . Note that the Bushmaster is not Scandi ground.

Not really close to looking alike but pretty useful for the same jobs and situations. If you aren't opposed to other BRKT knives than the different sizes available in a knife that can do similar stuff are so plentiful it can be somewhat confusing.

Agreed, the Aurora is a very fine knife. I haven't used mine in A2 very much, but it's one of those knives that just feels good in the hand.

I've ruled out the Bushcrafter for the moment - not enough information yet on how it performs compared to the Aurora in cutting, slicing and bushcraft chores.

And since I'm waiting on my Koster 3V MUCK to be finished, I feel a Bushmaster is kind of redundant.

Decisions... desicions...
