Anyone know the difference (if any) in the 1909 Michigan Bowie’s with single and double quillon (guard)? Just wondering when and why the change was made. I think the original design was single quillon.
 
I'm no expert (though I do own a fair number of BRKs), but I believe I've seen those offered as options - just like with their multitude of handle options, the offered them with either a single or a double guard.
 
I believe that can grind off one quillon for you if you ask or preorder it that way?
