Bark River fixed blade question

I picked up this Bark River fixed blade in a package trade deal about 7+ years ago. I have lost the email communication between me and the gent that I was trading with so I have no idea what it is. It has been sitting in my safe for all these years and I'm just now getting around to trying to figure out what I have. It's obviously a user that the original owner forced a patina on. I used some Flitz on it just before the pictures but as you can see the patina is on there good! Can someone out there please educate me on the steel, model etc.?

Looks like a Fox River to me.

If no steel designation appears it's probably A2, but it could be from back before A2 became their "standby steel."

In my experience, Bark River is very responsive to questions like this if you reach out to them. I only suggest that because they'd be the authority on which steel it is. They did use some high carbon steels before they settled on A2 for their baseline offerings.

Looks more like an etch than a patina to my uneducated eye - maybe Ferric Chloride?

Agree. Definitely an etch.
