I've never ventured into this area of the forum before, but this seems to be the best place to post this question. My brother and I are knife lovers who have never made knives before. We are considering attending one of Bark River's Grind In's either this fall or Spring to learn some of the basics.

I'm just wondering if anyone has attended one before and if they thought it was worth it. The price seems reasonable, especially since you get to keep the knife you make.

Any advice?

I haven't been to one but I've heard about it, and it sounds like fun. Most makers start out without the beniefit of professional tools and an experienced teacher, even for a few hours. I'd say go for it.

It's a blast. You learn a lot in the short weekend. Mike and the gang at Bark River are a good bunch. I believe I told your bro all about it.
