i have for the most part decided i am going to get a Bark River Gunny. im going to be useing it as a EDC, from alot of reviews i have seen and read, there is a fair amount of people that dont like the thumb ramp, this will be my first Bark River knife, so the real question is to get one w/ or w/o?

thanks for any info

I don't think you'll miss the ramp much on the Gunny. I bought my Gunny, used it for a few weeks before deciding to remove the ramp.

When I had my Gunny I hated the ramp. Didn't bother me so much about the Bravo-1 but for the Gunny it's terrible.

I have two Gunny's: (1)-with ramp & (1)-rampless.

After using both side by side, I prefer the rampless version by a pretty good margin. For me, the ramp serves no usefull purpose.

The ramped version is not that bad, however, and you can always get it removed if you don't like it.

From personal experience, I would recommend no ramp. But as stated above, if you get one with a ramp, it can always be removed.

On the gunny as a edc you wont miss the ramp and might even like not having it if you choke down for fine tasks. Personaly I like the ramp on my bravo 1 I edc it and find the ramp gives some added leverage now and then and is often used to strike my firesteel.

I have a gunny and had the ramp taken off , it was the right choice , I dont miss it and it was very annoying pointy in the hand , I feel the ramp on the bravo 1 is more tolerable though.
