As a 1st post, I read number of times from this forum, today I joined.

I now own 2 BR knives. Bravo 1 EDC 3V and Bravo 2 A2 with black micarte scales. I couldn't find exactly what I like in scales.
I do like this Bog Oak Wood and with durability and appearance. BR doesn't do replacement of scales,
Therefore was directed to one competent to do some and BR recomended Matt Davis in Tulsa OK area.
I have sent the money and knife is now in his possession.

How long a process is this, and how long should I expect the knife to be returned? Just looking for advice and not want to flame anyone..

Hello and welcome to the forum!

The actual time to do a job like that is a matter of hours, however if this person is doing this professionally it’s reasonable to expect there are other orders ahead of yours waiting to be done.

How long you should expect to wait is entirely between you and the other party. You should ask them.

Some folks are very backed-up with orders and it’s not uncommon to wait months or even years for custom orders to be filled by certain makers.

Hopefully it’s not too long - post up some pictures when you can!

Thank you.
I did text him this morning. Response was he "typically stay's 12 weeks behind. It will be a while before I get to Yours."

Really,
I had no idea on how busy he is. So looking at 25 July before he starts!! And, A few days to professionally replace the scales and a liner. Then at least 5 days ship time.
So, i'm thinking I will not see the completed BR Bravo 2 A2 steel with the Bog Oak scales with RED lines till end of 1 Week in August.
I'm having fun waiting and anticipation.

In the cowboy world most ranchers and or working horsemen /cowboys ride custom made saddle. There's kinda a saying that if a saddle maker was't at least a year behind ya didn't want to order a saddle from him.

So, I should find some comfort in the knowledge he is very good or reputation. He did call this morning too. Said, He also worked full time and take care of 40 acres farmland.
So, not his lively hood but part time. that's okay. BR did give him #1 to do the scales replacement. :thubsup
