Bark River Highland handle material?

What is this handle material? Is this material too slick for the knife to be useful?
I can't find this material on the Bark River web site.

looks like arcrylic.. could be slick if it gets wet...

Found out material is Alante' Acrylic. Is this a serviceable handle material for a knife or a decoration?

I have the same knife in black acrylic and I have never had any problems with it, holds up just great and surprisingly does not feel that slippery even when wet.

This question came up on the Bark River forums at KF one time. I seem to recall that Mike Stewart said the material is serviceable but not designed for hard use. In other words, you could not baton the knife but for most regular use it should be fine. If it's a concern for you, just pick one up in micarta or G-10 - BRKT has several flavors of each.
