website! I have tried multiple broswers, updated java and flash, and still cannot see any of their models! What's wrong with the website? If they have such a massive fan base why aren't they doing something about all the messed up images on their site?

Odd...I thought it worked fine the other day now only one page will load...

Though I probably would have shown a little class and e-mailed BR and asked what was up rather than call them out and criticize here...

Their website is out of date.

The best sources of info on Bark River knives are the subforum at the other place and looking through what the stocking dealers have.

The website isn't used for a loooong time.
There is so much going on at bark rivers that keeping a website up to date is to much work.
Instead all info and interaction can be found on their forum
17000 topics, 274000 replies :)
It also has a nice gallery section

There is plenty of info on Barkies available out there. Before you go slamming there site I would peruse some other big name sites too. Most knife sites NOT ALL are a bit lacking. I personally have never had an issue with BR sites tho. You wanna see a lame site do a lil scouting. Some BIG name knife makers have truly horrid sites.

hmm it must be some security setting for the site then. Thanks for the collector's site link, that worked fine. Man they have some beautiful knives.

Pardon me, but that is the lamest excuse to justify the crappy site, for bark river of any other mass maker.
Obviously blacksmiths are not doing the site, it's web developer(s), who in turn aren't grinding the knives.
So, in the end it's just a matter of few hundred $...

I've had a few issues using their site, but I never worried about it.
As mentioned , go to their s/f on the other forum and you can find pics of everything. You can even ask Mike Stewart (the owner) a question, and he will give you an answer very quickly.

There is also a list of stocking dealers there.

They have a very strong following and make an outstanding product.

Plus they give more options than any other company out there...

Edit: I forgot to mention, the title for your thread really doesn't come across well

If you go to the "other" site and make a post at his BRKT subforum, chances are that Mike Stewart will answer your question the same day.

In the past, he has stated that he gets more activity and business by maintaining his subforum at the "other" site and he does most of his business thru there by funneling buyers to his distributors from his subforum than he does from any website activity. He only keeps the website so it doesn't get stolen by cyber squatters.

If you want the latest news and lowdown on BRKT knives, visit his subforum. You will be able to make comments and requests that can help influence new designs. I made a request for a chopper to Mike that eventually became the basis for the BRKT-Ontario machete project.

BD, that really comes across as shilling. The thread wasn't asking what's the best knife.
I am big on Barkies AND Doziers but this ain't the place for that kind of thread hijack.

I have no beef with this thread! The Bark River website is terrible. I think they need to just put up a "thanks for looking, here is where to contact us" page until it gets fixed.

BUT that being said, I am glad they spend their rime on knives and not the website!

Truly, you can get the best info on the knives from their forum, my website www.knivesshipfree.com or a new website I am developing to chronicle the steady stream of knives coming out of there- www.barkrivercollector.com .

Hopefully the lousy website doesn't turn you off their great knives! :)

I really have to agree with Derrick. This is one very busy little knife company. Heck, they don't even have time for the knife shows. Their undivided attention seems to be all about the knives. The dealers have the very latest information concerning models, availability, etc. Mama always told me, never judge a book by its cover, and it surely applies here.
