my girl is awesome enough that she's getting me my first brkt knife and because she doesn't have a lot of spare income I'm going with the huntsman, I plan on using it for field dressing and my main hunting woods knife. Question being she is even in love with the look of the curly maple and I love the African blackwood.. Now the only reason I'm considering a micarta or g10 would have better grip when bloody, I have a marbles woodsman and love it but the handle does get slick compared to g10 like on my pm2.. Thoughts?

I wouldn't get wood handles, they swell and shrink with changes of temperature and humidity. Even though they are both epoxied and bolted to the tang, the swelling and shrinking can still pop the handles loose.

Micarta and G10 are best for user knives, in my experience. BRKT's G10 is smooth like glass, but works with their knives that have very contoured handles. BRKT's micarta, even polished, is still grippy for some reason.

For example, my Golok, which has a very flat handle, has green canvas micarta while my Grasso Bolo III, which has a nice palm swell to hold onto, is made from polished G10.

If you want really grippy handles go with matte canvas micarta, though I think that the regular polished micarta will do just fine.
