Still looking to get myself a permanent barkie. Already owned (and sold) a fox river, drop point hunter and another that I can't remember the name of.
FWIW, I have just come back from viewing a 2nd hand gunny hunter in green micarta with a2. Sweet deal, but the handle just seemed a little 'thin' for me, so I left it. I liked the 4mm steel and the usual hair popping blade sharpness but something just didn't feel right in my hand.
The fox was the wrong option (for me); the drop point seemed a little 'short' and I think the issue I had with the other one was the handle material. I think it was stag - Just wasn't a fan.
So, my question is, what model handle would be "like" the gunny only more meaty and with a blade thickness @ 4mm. The blade stock size it not a massive issue, but I don't need a pry-bar (lol)
Any recommendations?
Was potentially thinking a bravo 1 lt... but is it "fat" enough. Thoughts and views welcomed
Thanks a lot.
Joe.
PS: Always thought the Canadian Special might be worth trying out too.
