Recommendation? Bark River Knife Handle

Still looking to get myself a permanent barkie. Already owned (and sold) a fox river, drop point hunter and another that I can't remember the name of.

FWIW, I have just come back from viewing a 2nd hand gunny hunter in green micarta with a2. Sweet deal, but the handle just seemed a little 'thin' for me, so I left it. I liked the 4mm steel and the usual hair popping blade sharpness but something just didn't feel right in my hand.

The fox was the wrong option (for me); the drop point seemed a little 'short' and I think the issue I had with the other one was the handle material. I think it was stag - Just wasn't a fan.

So, my question is, what model handle would be "like" the gunny only more meaty and with a blade thickness @ 4mm. The blade stock size it not a massive issue, but I don't need a pry-bar (lol)

Any recommendations?

Was potentially thinking a bravo 1 lt... but is it "fat" enough. Thoughts and views welcomed :)

Thanks a lot.

Joe.

PS: Always thought the Canadian Special might be worth trying out too.

The Gunny handle has always seemed small to me.
I had one of the drop point hunters - might have been the featherweight - it didn't sit well in hand; and I sold it.
I have a Bravo 1-LT and Fox River LT; and I prefer the Fox River LT.
I've stuck with micarta handles on my Barkies.

Bravo handle is similar to gunny, just a little bit larger. Bravo 1/1.25/1.5LT is ca 4mm, if i am right..
Also aurora handle is larger than gunny, but little bit different..
If you like canadian special, check the UP Bravo at KSF

Do not buy a BR canadian, buy the real thing made by Grohman, in Canada. Seventy year old award winning design.

How about a Bravo 1? That has a nice fat handle and you like the design. You may have more luck with hidden tang Bark Rivers/Blackjacks like the Blackjack model 125. The hidden tang knives tend to be fatter handles.

I have an original grohmann #1. Handle is way too small for me but I keep it for the history value :) I do like the look of the Grahmann #4 though ... so I may pick that one up sometime soon.

Bravo 1 is one that my brother has. Unfortunately never handled it but he has always been impressed with it. Not sure it its rampless or not.
