Ok, so let me start by saying most won't consider this because of cost. $150-200 for a machete is a lot.

So I ordered one from a guy in the US not knowing a whole lot about it.

The machete I have owned have all been cheap and nasty (which is what they should be) but I decided that I'd like to try the bark river.

Assumption by me:

- it will be over engineered
- heavy compared to other machete

Well I was proven wrong on both counts. This baby is very light for a piece of metal this large. Shaving sharp and very well finished.

I would never try to say it is worth the money over a cheaper version as thats BS. A $30 machete sharpened will do the same job.

I will say that anyone wanting something really special (that they love to have with them) with a nice handle excellent cutting then this baby is definitely for you..

I'll get some pics tonight, but I have to say I am very happy with my purchase...

Its so light I would have no probs taking it as well as my GB wildlife.

Here is a pic (Not my machete - I'll get some soon)

Geez that looks like a hefty sucker... Do either of those flex?

The most surprising thing about this is how light it feels in your hand. I am very surprised...

I'll test it tonight. My initial impression is no, not much...

I have a cold steel 24 and it has quite a bit of flex.

I don't have the golok. I always wanted 1 but now don't think its necessary as the machete is really cool.
