Just a couple of pics of a problem I'm having with my Mini Canadian sheath. I'm not sure exactly what happened. I was wearing it on my belt while doing some work around the house. After I was done and took it of my belt I noticed this...

I might have cut into it as I was putting it back into the sheath, or the knife might have been pushed against it too hard as I was bent over. Either way it wont sit right anymore. I've been EDCing it for a few weeks now carrying in my right front pocket. With the style of pants I wear it's not a terrible option. I'm thinking about getting a different sheath for it, maybe horizontal on the belt.

Anyone else have an issue like this?

Seen it often and all the time. Almost 100% guaranteed user error in re-sheathing the knife. Meaning, you messed up and the knife was so sharp you didn't even feel it cutting the leather. If you wet mold the leather sheaths to the knife before lugging it around the knives tend to slide right in and lock in place with much less chance to cut the sheath. I would just sew it up and wet mold it afterward and you should be fine.

I've been really considering a horizontal carry system on my belt. I hear there are plenty of people on the forums who could make such a system. I'll have to do some looking around, which means I'll have to ask my fiance for my allowance.

I always have to remember to tuck the retention strap back on my Bravo 2. The knife is so sharp that I'm sure one mistake and the strap would be cut clean off. I'd contact Bark River,I bet this happens more often than you'd think.

This little mishap is making me seriously consider a different method of carry for my Mini Canadian, just because it offers me an opportunity to buy a new sheath. . I'm thinking about doing a cross draw type sheath on the belt. Maybe some kind of shoulder sheath system? Maybe I'll reserve the shoulder sheath system for a different knife. Something larger perhaps.

Any suggestions?

Any number of us can make you a sheath. Take a look at the sticky at the top of the forum for custom makers.

Speaking for myself, I require every knife be shipped to me for proper fitment and wet molding the leather like the gentleman above described. A generic fit sheath can be wet molded as long as it was made with veg tanned leather.
