Got this knife thursday and I can not begin to tell you how thrilled I am with it.Well ok I'm veryvery happy!! :D

The Settler is extremely (scary) sharp out of the box.It push cuts newsprint easily and just glides through cardboard.I can't do any hard work at this time due to a smashed and swollen finger on my right hand. But I did carve a roast last night and it just zipped through so easily.

I find this knife to be dead sexy.I got the yellow mulberry handle.A beautiful piece of wood with a real nice grain pattern. The handle is vey comfortable and fits me well. The top edge of the blade is rounded over to give a unique profile. The leather pouch type sheath is handome and well made though some of the stitching is uneven and should be a color other then white.

I reallyreally like the Settler and am considering ordering another one in big horn sheep. Also considering the Sandstorm lla.

Sounds great! I don't have a Settler, but I have yet to get a Bark River knife that isn't a great blade. Congrats on your purchase, and I hope your hand heals quickly!
