Bark River STS 4 sharpened edge length

Does anyone have one of these that they could measure the sharpened portion of the blade and share that info? All I see is blade length =4 inches. If the sharpened portion is under 4 inches then I won't have any issues carrying it in accordance to my state laws

It would be very helpful
 
Ummm... Are you sure about your state's law? Every state law with which I am familiar measures blade length from the most forward part of the handle to the tip of the blade.
 
I can't believe not a single site has the measurement. But, from them advertising the overall length as 9" and the handle length as 5" and there is a small unsharpened portion of the blade, I am thinking it's sharpened edge length is more like 3.8" or close to that, but under 4"
 
You could try calling Bark River directly. Real people answer the phone and with any luck Mike Stewart himself will be on the other end. It's happened to me before, give them a call.
 
You can use the picture to get the answer. Measure the lengths and do a conversion.

I'll do it too and see if we get the same answer.

On the KSF website I measured the Blaze Orange @ 4.032" sharpened edge and the Tan @ 4.125"

The total blade length is 4" on the dot. The handle length is 5" as advertised. The edged portion of the blade is 3 7/8 measuring straight from the tip back. If you measure along the curvature of the blade however, it is 4 3/16. Depending on if an officer wants to bust your balls or not, it is borderline for me to carry.

(I asked this question after ordering one, so I measured mine when I got it)
 
Black canvas micarta handle. I'll snap some photos at some point. In the pictures online it seems like it would be larger, but it fits the hand really well
