I am wondering which of these knives would make the best camp/utility/bushcraft knife. Anyone have experience with one or both of them? Thanks.

You're a Becker-Head? I think the BK-7 would be a better choice (thinner, lighter, much less expensive, very tough) ... Why these 2 knives?

You'd be pissed if those knives chips on you. they tend to over heat the edge while grinding. their excuse is that the edge is too thin for hard use. WATCH THE LINKS

if you buy one there's a 50/50 chance that you'll get a burnt edge or a compromised HT due to blade grinding.

If you want stainless I think Justin Gingrich (Ontario RD series designer) can make a custom RD 6 or 7 made with ATS34 for $250. almost the same price as the STS 8. Or if you're willing to wait and want an upgrade from 1095, Swamprat will be releasing the Ratweiler CG anytime now (I hope).

You are right, chrial.Grolim. What was I thinking?

Thanks for the links, Knife Chop. I am working my way through them.

The Bravo series would your best bet, that is what they claim the knife was designed for aside from a military implication. The STS is more of a fighting/combat/tactical knife, hence the swedge.
