Whats the difference? I do not see any difference in them other than one is lighter in weight but where is the weight savings?

I am thinking of getting one but I do not like the short ricasso which may keep me from getting one.

I like a longer ricasso which to me kind of acts like a choil like on my Ontario SP-10 Marine Raider.

Looking at it, I can't tell where they shaved 6 oz off of it. Has to be in the tang somewhere, all other specs are, or seem, the same. Not sure if that's good or bad. The lack of usable ricasso doesn't bother me too much on a big knife. I have smaller knives for detail work, and I'm NOT a "one-knife solution to all my cutting needs" type. The right tool for the job. If I know I might have to do some heavy chopping, I have a 'hawk for that.

Still, I do have a few big choppers....

Old thread, but the difference is in the blade thickness. Their V-44 has a .25” thick blade. The blade on the LT is about 3/16”.
