It was hair splitting sharp, and today I cut about 45 cardboard boxes, and made around 500 cuts.The knife was still shaving hair afterwards....I was amazed.The cardboard was uhaul type boxes pretty tick cardboard!I brought it back again to hair splitting sharpness with strop in couple minutes.!Simple 1085 performed better in many tasks I did,than many other knife steels I own including 154cm from Benchmade.This is amazing.....

The simple 10XX series steels can be awesome performers, if properly heat treated. My Ivan Campos Scandi-ground bushcraft in 1070 is beyond scary sharp.
