Bark River "White" Series Prices?

Hello all. My wife asked me last week what I wanted for my birthday and at the time I hadn't a clue. Then upon cleaning a deer the other day I decided to ask for a new knife. I had been using some cheap Gerbers that I find too big and won't hold an edge very long. I decided to get something of better quality and of a size that I prefer. I have been researching this sight and have seen a lot of positive reviews of Bark River knives and decided that the Huntsman would be a perfect fit. I found one I really liked with dark curly maple handles and red spacers. I ordered the knife for $150. Today I found a "White Series" Huntsman with the same specs for $89. Is there a difference in the two knives? Is the White Series of lesser quality? Or did I get taken? Thanks.

There are no "White Series" Bark River Knives that I've ever heard of.

The prices you mention are in the ball park, the high end for a new knife the low end for pre-owned.

Thanks Big Mike. I bought the knife from Daves Knife World then found the different price for a new one at ebladestore. I just went and checked and the price difference is because it doesnt come with a sheath. Thanks again.

Big mike is correct, He knows Bark River, There are white handles but no white series that I've ever heard of.
Daves is a reputable dealer for Bark River. Good choice on the Huntsman and specifically the handle.

There was a very early run of Huntsman that did not have sheaths.

The one I have from that period is mostly smooth elk horn (i.e., white) and has no blade markings.

Dave would be the kind of guy to have something like that.

Thanks guys.

Mountain Wildman, what knife is that? I noticed it didn't have a guard like the Huntsman. Bravo 1 without the ramp? It sure is nice lookin'.

Hello Big Mike ,
I believe a few years ago the original name for the Huntsman was White River Series Huntsman . Feel free to correct me if i am wrong , as i am not positive about this .

It is a Bravo 1 SS Rampless with Dark Curly Maple and Red Liners 1st Production Run, I got it in a trade, I am not sure if Bark River made it as a rampless or the previous owner ground it off. My first Barkie was the Bravo 1 A2 Dark Curly Maple with Red Liners and Ramp. I loved it and getting this one makes me real happy, I missed my first B1 as soon as I shipped it.
