I was looking at some blades and the BRKT Bravo 1 got my attention, and I am intending to buy one soon, but (there is always a "but" ...)I saw that there was two steel types to choose A2 or CPM-3V, but there is a significant difference in price: A2 - $149.00/3V - $224,00(could use the money to buy some other things :D).
So which do you think should I get ?

Different league 3V is the only way to go it blows A2 away and def worth the money, A2 has been great until 3V.

One more thing, I've heard that the ramp on the spine of the Bravo 1 can be very painful, but that's just for some people, others say they don't feel them at all.
So ramp or no ramp??? ( price stays the same with the 3V but with A2 it goes up by $10)
As for the steel I haven't chosen yet  waiting for some more responses :D

According to Mike Stewart, The ramp is designed for firesteel usage, However, I found it to be virtually useless for that purpose and I always struck my firesteel in front of the ramp, For that reason, I prefer the rampless version but it is not a deal breaker for me, My current Bravo 1 is the CPM154 version (Bravo 1 SS) and is rampless. The A2 is more prone to form a patina than the
3V or CPM154.

I would get the A2 version and spend the extra money on a really nice handle choice.

I've got both the thumb ramp version and the rampless version. I love both, but the rampless is sweet.

I'm thinking the exact same question. In fact I didn't see this thread and started another one. I'll delete it unless staff hasn't done that already.

I'm thinking the 3v, and then I won't second guess myself, but I wanted to hear from someone that might have had both, but the 3v is kind of new to the scene. Either way, I'm going to buy one for my Birthday present to myself.

Stay away from the stainless 154 version. It is crap. I had two of them and one broke and the other chipped right out of the gate then rolled easily. Eventually the tip broke. Now, with that being said, the A2 had worked very well for users. I have heard awesome things about 3V. I guess it depends on how well Mike Stewart heat treats it.
I wonder if the destruction test was done with A2 or CPM154?
