Coonhound showed up half starved awhile back, so I put him in my 2 acre dog pen and he's a live wire. I was trying to take pictures of the birds at my bird feeder, out my opened window and he's intently wondering what I'm doing. First picture he's peering through the deck rails, then he pops up for a better look.

He's a handsome fellow. No sign of the owner?

If no one claimed him, I'd get him to the vet for shots and a microchip with my name on it.

He's a dropped dog, people get them all the time then when they get bigger bring them out here in the country and dump them. Whoever had him before was hitting him, too because if you raise a hand around him he shys away.

In that case, skip trying to find the owner. Are you going to keep him? I bet he'd feel right at home on your couch or his own dog bed. After a bath of course.

I bet he'd also find a home quickly through the humane society.

Love the look on his face in the second picture. Good for you. I never could figure out why people would just dump dogs. At least around here, they will take them at the shelter no questions asked.

I commend you on giving your dogs such an awesome area to live. To often people lock their dogs in little areas and never give them a chance to run. And btw, your place looks absolutely beautiful!

Thanks, you used to be able to let your dogs run free around here. But, if you want to keep them and not have them come up missing (which I hate) you need a good place that they can be happy in and safe.
