I have a couple of Camillus knives (from the old Camillus), and I would like to know more about them. One is a single blade barlow, appx. 3 in. long closed, clip blade, with woodgrain derlin scales. The other is a Model 26 folding hunter (got that from the sheath, says model 26 and 6), standard, with no blade etching, and stag like derlin scales.
I have researched a little, and have never found any Camillus knives exactly like them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In time, friend, in time.
In other words, when I get a photobucket account and have figured out how to get them off my phone.

It is, I looked on that site, all the barlows in this size are 2 bladed, all the folding hunters i saw had "sword brand" blade etches. My hunter has no etching at all, and has Camillus, NY USA stamped on the tang of the main blade. No other markings on the knife, the (leather) sheath has the Camillus logo and the nodel #s stamped into it.

There are a lot of stories about unfinished knives that were bought at the closing. There is a single blade folding hunter (model 6?). Don't have any Camillus large folding hunters but do have a few 886's.

Looked it up and the same sheath was used for the 6 and 26. I see what you mean about the Sword Brand etch.

I was thinking about the possibility of an unfinished "partsbin" knife, unfortunately there's no real way (that I can gather) to date them. The F&F is excellent though, better than Case.
I will also add that the barlow has a laser etched mark on the tang in place of a stamp, reads "Camillus, NY USA"
Never seen a Camillus with a laser mark, counterfeit?

It was a common practice in the last years that Camillus was open to grind a tang stamp off a blade and etch a new stamp in its place.

Interesting. 2006 & 2007 then?
Unfortunately I had only realized what a great knife company Camillus was "after" they closed their doors. :(

OK, so now I know that the barlow isn't counterfeit, and the hunter is older than 2006 or so, did Camillus make any one blade barlows or un etched folding hunters, or did I get flukes and/or modification knives?
