Just received my July 2018 issue of "Knife Magazine" and see a big article on Barlow Knifes written by Neal Punchard and Jack Black, who we often see posting here on the Traditional Forum. Lots of facts and good photos, and a little sad to think of all the sweat and work that went into making these knives in comparison to how little the men making them were paid.

Cool! Do they sell individual issues? If I subscribe now, I wonder if it would start with the July issue.

A big shout out to Jack and Neil- two very nice Gentleman whom I have had the pure pleasure to meet in person.

After talking to Charlie about this article I can’t wait to read this.
We are so VERY lucky to rub shoulders with such knowledgeable, nice guys.

Thanks for the kind words folks, hope the history is of interest :) Many thanks to Charlie for the pics of some of his wonderful old Barlows

I need to sort out a subscription myself! :D

Congrats Jack and Neal! Just got my issue and was pleasantly surprised to see the article! I haven't read it yet, but I generally read Knife Mag cover to cover! Highly recommended.

The article is worth getting comfortable, and having a nice cuppa coffee, or a glassa your favorite bitter, to read it!:)

Congrats! My subscription ran out years ago so I haven't seen it but I look forward to reading it when/if I find a copy. Barlows are certainly a hot topic these days! r8shell r8shell In the past they've sold back issues. So you may be able to order the issue separately if your new subscription misses that issue.

Thanks a lot guys :) Geoff Tweedale has a sub, and has kindly sent me a couple of fat envelopes of back issues, but I do need to get a sub myself! :D

Thanks, I'll look into it. I've been meaning to subscribe, but I keep putting it off...

Some wonderful research and invaluable information from Jack, along with several beautiful pictures of rare old Barlow models from waynorth.
Those who don't subscribe to "Knife Magazine" are missing out on so many great articles on both modern and traditional knives.
The saying goes "knowledge is power", but it's also pretty darn interesting to learn new things. :)
