I have a "77" "Sheep's foot" that went into my pocket the day I received it and is the finest pocket carry one could have, in my limited opinion. I appreciate that many folks who have obtained both "77" as well as "15" Barlow knives really are not using them, but for those who are, I'd enjoy their commentary w.r.t. the "using" difference in the two sizes? Is there a reasonable and practical advantage or disadvantage in the size difference from a using point of view?

Longer handle, longer blade length. More room to grip in hand is what I've witnessed when I needed to do harder cutting or more leverage within the cut itself.

It also depends on whether it's a 2 blade TC or a 1 blade 77. I do find 2 blades more comfortable with the added width especially with 77's that had the sawcut bone covers. Thus this upcoming 77 in micarta is going to be a wonderful user.

Just a wee bit larger feel in hand is all, but not by much. Both are great knives. My 77 Sheepfoot is 100% EDC since the day it arrived in mid-February. A great companion and does it all.

I like a 3.5" or shorter knife in my pocket, and in hand. For me, the 3 3/8" or 3.5" barlows are perfect. I really dislike when a >3.5" knife falls horizontal in my pocket. I haven't found any job that I needed more blade for. Anything else gets an axe, sven-saw, or chainsaw!:D

Yeah, a chainsaw would be a cutting preference...LOL. I get it though, regarding the smaller size, as I have noticed that my Northfield is a bit too large for my jeans "watch pocket". But how about when using it to whittle, break down cardboard boxes, making fuzz sticks, buttering your toast or cutting a steak etc.etc???

I do not have a 15 , but I do have several 77's with some more on the way soon. I do have several knives that are very close to the same length as the 15. I prefer the slightly longer length of the 77 over the 15's size for working outside or in my shop. That being said , I prefer the 73 over the 77 and it is my EDC.

Tim, you are right, there is something to be said for this. The scales and how they are sanded down can change the feel quite a bit too. They are both awesome knives, it comes down to the size of your hand and personal preferences.
