Having done lots of hiking and trying to keep my weight down, I have finally narrowed it down to what's essential: a blade and can opener.

Is there a Camillus with just a blade and can opener in a Barlow style?

This should be sturdier than the plastic slab SAK's and would be everything you need for hiking anyway.

In short, no. The closest thing to what you described would be the Dura-Tool Series Workhorse (Sales #326BP) but that has a clip blade and cap lifter/screwdriver. My suggestion, at just a couple ounces more, would be the Military issue Camp Knife (Sales #1760). That includes a spear blade, can opener, punch, screwdriver and cap lifter. Made of Stainless Steel.

I have the Camillus boy scout knife and never used the awl. I also have a Remington barlow which is very nice, so I figured the combination would be awesome.

You might want to consider the Victorinox Cadet. I know I have mentioned this knife on other threads (too often maybe) but I think it's one of the best small pocket knives I have every owned.
Like other SAKs it has a main blade, a bottle-opener/screwdriver, and a can-opener/small screwdriver.
But it also has a nail-file and, best of all, it has aluminum alox scales like the Soldier model.
It's 3.25" long and only about .25" thick and fits in the pocket better than the Soldier model.
I did file off the key-ring part because it was too sharp for my pockets.
Happy hunting.
Allen

I apologize for recommending a Victorinox on a Camillus forum. It's probably bad form. Sorry.

It also occurred to me that you could just carry a barlow and a P38 military-issue can opener (they're very common at Army/Navy surplus stores).
