My brother showed up with this over the weekend. 1976 XLHC. Put in a barn in '78 until '08. Then the owner got it running again only to put in back in the barn at the end of that year. It's all original (has been repainted but was originally orange) and in remarkable condition. Kick only, no oil filter, rear drum. The tear down started yesterday.

It's going to be kept all original. It needs surprising little. Mostly bushings and boots on the front end. The cables and front brake line will get replaced. There's not a lot to this thing. The seat pan is even in good condition. Usually the fiberglass is cracked at base of the bend for the fender.

Don't forget to update, it was nice the last couple of days here, 50° warm enough to ride, felt good to get in the wind, been about 6 weeks since I last rode so everyday it's not crappy out, I'm out.

Stay safe and ride like ya stole it, :)

I'm thinking we need more pictures :D

What route are you gonna go with it?

just get it up and running, polish it and go?

and free? I wish I could get something like that for free

 Nice. Congrats.

Now days with all the barns falling down, barn finds will soon be foundation finds. :D

Is that an AMF Harley? If so, I can guess why it was free.....

Edit: never mind, found the answer. All I can say is good luck......

It's not the first time dealing with an AMF. Sort of like dealing with a 6.0 PS. Once you get them sorted out, they run just fine. There's not much to this one and it's going to stay that way. Good thing is it hasn't been tinkered with. Still has the factory exhaust on it. Collected all of the parts for it today (points, plugs, wires, seals and boots for the front clip, and new brake parts all around).

I love barn finds. Too bad almost every show about seeking out and finding old stuff is mostly BS.
