Hi guys,
I just picked this up a few weeks ago.
A Craig Barr damascus 'hawk. He usually sells them with a hammer poll or a spike. This one has neither.

Here's a pic with a moosetrax forge for size.

Here's a shot of the eye ...look at the thickness difference. 'Tho the Barr is smaller it's about twice as thick. The eye is smaller too so it only slide up the haft about 3/4's of the way.

Here's a pic showing the edge geometry. The Barr is much more wedge like.

A pic with the moosetrax on the left, Barr in the center and a KRJ to the right.

And finally a profile of all three.

I like the Barr but I'm going to do some work on it. The eye area will loose a lot of metal, at the same time I'm going to try to slimm down the wedge so the edge geometry will make it bite a bit deeper. Then it will get a new etch or course.

You could probably contact him thru ebay....moostrax04 is his user name.

another pic of the moosetrax forge hawk. I did a lot of sanding before I blued it.

Where did you get that handle? The one in the last photograph. Really nice

The handle is maple. It's just been sanded down. It's like glass, it's so smooth. I'm not sure what kind of finish I want yet.

I got that handle at Bladeshow 2 years ago.

This is the only hawk head I've seen of his that didn't have a poll or a spike.
There must have been a flaw in it...which was fine by me. I was going to cut it off anyway.:)
